The main difference between firm, plush, and pillow top is the comfort level. A firm mattress would be considered harder when compared to the surfaces of other mattresses. If you like a mattress that's harder, then a firm mattress may be a good choice. A plush mattress is softer for comfort but has firm support underneath. This is the happy medium between firm and pillow top. A pillow top provides a combination of added softness, comfort, and firmness cradling and supporting you while you sleep.
